Keep it cool. Summit Heating and Air installs, repairs and replaces air conditioners, traditional systems and minisplits, for homes across Benton and Washington Counties.
Chapter 01
Four places a no-cool call usually traces back to
When a system in Lowell, Rogers or anywhere else in Northwest Arkansas stops cooling, we work through the same four areas: electrical components, thermostat communication, airflow restrictions and refrigerant-related issues. The fault is often a failed capacitor, a frozen coil or a clogged drain, though it can be something else, which is why we diagnose before we quote. That holds for a traditional unit and for a minisplit.
The warning signs usually show up before the breakdown does: warm air from the vents, weak airflow, moisture or leakage, unusual noises, energy bills that keep climbing, or a system that cycles on and off. A frozen coil and a blocked drain both announce themselves as moisture. Weak airflow can be as simple as a clogged filter, or as involved as a blower or duct problem.
If the house is heating up, call 479-234-4600. We are open 24 hours and run 24/7 emergency service, and same-day repair may be possible depending on the fault, technician availability and whether parts are needed. Customers who have had Manny out describe the same habit: everything gets explained while the work is happening, so you know what the repair is before it is done.

Repair or replace: five signs that settle it
A new system is worth pricing when the current one is over 10 to 15 years old, needs frequent costly repairs, can no longer hold a steady temperature, has lost efficiency, or runs on outdated or discontinued refrigerant. One sign alone rarely decides it. Two or three together usually do, and our technicians assess the system and recommend replacement only if it is needed.
We put the numbers on paper first. Our quotes are detailed and given up front, with no hidden fees or surprises, so you can set the repair history and the cost of the next fix against the cost of a new system before any work begins. Summit Heating and Air is licensed, bonded and insured, Arkansas contractor license 0329700527.
A full replacement means removing the old equipment, setting matched indoor and outdoor components, reconnecting the electrical and refrigerant lines, and testing the system before we call it finished. Fall is a practical time to plan one, because cooler weather takes the urgency out of it and gives you room to schedule before summer demand returns.
Chapter 03
Sizing the system, then running the install day
The right size starts with your house, not a rule of thumb: square footage, insulation levels, window exposure and cooling needs all feed the calculation that sets BTU and tonnage. A system that is too big or too small will not cool evenly. Converted spaces, such as a finished bonus room or a garage conversion, have different insulation and airflow needs than the original house, and we account for them.
Many residential installs take one day, though added duct changes, a thermostat upgrade or limited access can stretch that. Older Lowell homes get their ductwork, electrical capacity and insulation checked before the new system goes in. Townhomes and tight lots change where the condenser can sit, how the lines run and how easy it is to service, so we look at placement first.
Where ductwork does not reach, or a single room needs its own cooling, a minisplit can be the better answer, and we install and repair those as well as traditional systems. We are an American Standard Customer Care Dealer and carry other major brands, so the recommendation follows the house rather than the catalogue.
"Our air conditioner stopped cooling and in these 100-degree temps it was sweltering. The owner, Brock, came out and checked out our unit and got it fixed quickly." Lisa B, Google review.
Cooling is half of the year's work. The other half is the furnace, heat pump or boiler that takes over in fall, and a yearly spring tune-up is how most systems stay ahead of a summer breakdown. Our Peak Performance Plans cover that visit.
